Similar Games have been held by the National Kidney Foundation since 1990, which includes transplant recipients and living donors who compete in strenuous sporting events. Recipients of every type of lifesaving organ transplant--including kidney, liver, heart, lung, pancreas and bone marrow--compete for gold, silver and bronze medals as they celebrate their second chance at life and show the world the power of organ donation.

Who is Team Utah Idaho?

Team Utah Idaho is made up of transplant recipients and living donors of all organs from throughout both states. Team members have ranged in age from 3 to 70. Grateful athletes with new hearts, kidneys, livers, lungs and pancreases participate in strenuous athletic events to celebrate a new life and prove that organ donation brings a full return to good health.

Living donors and donor families have given the selfless 'gift of life,' which has made this all possible. Transplant and donor family members are an important part of the support system for Team Utah Idaho to volunteer, photograph, cheer and even participate in the 5K if desired. The Games are about being part of a wonderful family of people who truly understand the meaning of 'donate life' and appreciate every day for the added blessing that it is.
